Elli's Beautiful Autumn Poem

For Friday poetry in Week 2, we wrote Autumn poems using a set format. We had to think of 'juicy' adjectives, interesting similes and metaphors and creative words to describe movement.

Elli gained a certificate from the Principal for her Autumn Poem:

Autum
Blazing hot red and orange leaves,
The leaves are smoothly glazing along the dirtiest ground in a huge muddy soily pot.
They fall to the ground gently.
They move softly along the bumpy ground.
Soft, crispy in the sun. Crunchy.
It's like... a leave shower as big as a raindrop.
They are so crunchy that they are easy to rip apart.
The leaves move eit the rattling noises together.
I like the sound of leaves going along the ground.

  1. I really enjoyed reading your poem, Elli! MY favourite lines are when you describe how they move along the bumpy ground, and I like how you have said the leaves are like a shower as big as a rain drop. You have chosen great words, Elli!
